When you click record a new event is created with the Recording Name and duration.
If you leave this page then the recording will continue for that duration, or you can return to this page and use the "Events" tab to stop the recording
You can only stop the recording from the same machine that started it.
There is a delay in the live video, so recordings will include a buffer before and after the Record/Stop buttons are clicked.
